Daddy's away and he misses me
I don't miss him, though.

I didn't care when he said he must go
I won't jump and run when a key turns the lock
And it's only the postman behind the door knocks
It's really quite silly for me to be sad
When really it's only just, only my Dad
You won't see me crying
Or dropping a tear
Why, he could be gone for a month or a year
I don't need him watching me

Or tucking me in at the end of the day
I don't miss him reading me stories and such
I don't miss his hugs or his kisses, not much
I'd rather he didn't come home for awhile
Some other kids cry
